1950’s Heuer 2444 ‘Pre-Carrera’

The Heuer 2444, often referred to as the “pre-Carrera,” holds a special place in the history of Heuer and the evolution of the iconic Carrera line. Manufactured in the late 1940s to the early 1950s, the Heuer 2444 is a vintage chronograph watch that laid the groundwork for the renowned Carrera collection.

It features a round stainless steel case with clean lines and a balanced aesthetic. The dial layout is characterized by its simplicity, featuring baton hour markers and leaf-style hands for hours and minutes. The chronograph pushers and crown are integrated seamlessly into the case design. Inside just as with the first Carreras, is the legendary Valjoux 72.

Due to its historical significance and connection to the Carrera line, the Heuer 2444 has gained popularity among vintage watch collectors. Examples in good condition, with original components, have become sought after by those who appreciate the heritage of Heuer timepieces.
