1960s Heuer Carrera 12 Decimal Dial 2448D

The Heuer Carrera was introduced in 1963 by Heuer. These timepieces were designed by Jack Heuer, the great-grandson of the brand’s founder, and were inspired by the exciting world of motorsports. The Carrera collection was created with a focus on legibility, precision, and a clean, classic design. When looking for a clean legible chronograph you could describe the Carrera as the ideal watch. The range was available in this iconic shape until 1969.

This is the second execution of the Heuer Carrera 12 with a 3 register chronograph and the rare decimal scale in blue. The much less common decimal scale divides a minute into 100 parts so that time can be converted into decimals. This scale is mainly used for scientific and industrial determination of time or cost. A watch that rarely comes up and a must for a keen Heuer collector.
