1970’s Breitling Bullhead 2117

The Breitling 2117 Bullhead is a beast of a watch. Part of the funky design produced through the 70’s. The bullhead refers to the pushers being located at the top of the watch, much like the horns of a bull. The style is more in keeping with the handheld stopwatches used to time sporting events making it popular with sportsmen. Referred to as the “Pult Pupitre” This unusual name was created from both the German and French words for desk. This is because the watch is wedge shaped thinner at the bottom and larger at the top. It has the appearance of an old sloping school desk the ones where you could lift the lid.

The bullhead was available in brown and blue, and also a mechanical version where the crown was placed at 12 instead of 6. A cool unusual watch that screams retro and arcs back to a very innovative time.
