1980’s Heuer 1000 980.006

Released in 1979, the Heuer 844 which later developed into the 1000 Series proved to be a massive success throughout the 1980s. The collaboration with Monin came about as Heuer wanted to expand into the dive watch market, but they had no idea where to begin. Thus they outsourced to a French company Georges Monnin. Sales instantly took off and Heuer decided to move the production to Switzerland shortly after. Powered by an ESA  AS 536.121 movement it was reliable and durable. The rather cool and gives a great 1980s feel with its chunky case and Mercedes hands. In mint condition, it doesn’t appear to be a watch from the 1980s. You’ll struggle to find a better one on the market today!
